checking in

Just checking in on my fellow Queenslanders hoping that you are all safe. We are safe here on the Gold Coast but I am heartbroken that 75% of our state has been declared a Natural Disaster Zone due to the floods. 75%! South East Queensland is in dire straights today and I hope that it doens't affect you or your loved ones. Let's hope that we do not lose too many more lives. Please be safe, don't take risks, we cannot replace lives but we can replace our belongings.

And please DONATE to the Flood Appeal.

  2. Just checking in to see if you are situated in a disaster area. Cannot believe how this is happening and so much of the state. It's very hard hearing about it, yet being too far away to help hands on. Thinking of everyone is Queensland who is suffering!!

  3. Hi Bianca,
We are fine where we live and work. The rivers close by are only experiencing minor flooding as they aren't connected to the Wivenhoe Dam or the inflows from the Lockyer Valley. The Gold Coast has fared well but the surrounding cities and rural areas are not unfortunately. It is heartbreaking.

  5. We just returned from Australia, and missed the floods in Victoria....nothing compared to what's happening in Queensland of course. I'm happy to hear you're ok where you are. I've posted a link to donate to the relief fund as well. Take care!!

  6. Hey Julie, Yes it is just awful isn't it. We are really lucky where we are but many we know have not been so fortunate. That is amazing about your husband's aunt, but it is true in Brissie and the south east region of Qld how it is still like a big country town despite the increase in population. I hope she loved what she got and it was good things she was saying,ha. The lovely thing about ebay is all the nice people that you meet and get to know. Often they are really creative or on a budget and I really enjoy getting to know people and help them find items that they love, thanks for letting me know, xx Katherine
