featherston, bella and a sniff or two

Watch Bella discover the newest vintage chair in the house. It gets the sniff of approval. This New Zealand made A310 Featherston chair is in need of major overhaul. At this minute I'm thinking danish red wool upholstery, sand the base and oil it within an inch of it's life, and then straight to the Olive & Joy store. (Yes it hurts to sell it, but a girl has to make a living).

  1. Oh my goodness! Danish red wool? You realise how well that will go in my home, right?

Oh dear. Julie, do I need to start saving my pennies?

  5. Kylie - It would look fab in your home. save, save, save!

Captain - I heart Jonathan Adler. He can do no wrong in my book. You know what, I have been carrying around a sample of a deep duck egg blue wool fabric in my handbag for the last week! It has more green in it than the JA chair. It was my second choice of colour for this chair.

I'll email you both with an idea on a price after I've heard back from the upholsterers.

ps. I have another Featherston without arms which is fab also. eek!

  6. Yes yes, please do email about price if you decide to go red. I am in love with it. My husband may not be in love with me any more if I buy it, though!

I have even worked out how to rearrange the living room to accommodate it...

  9. Oh My - Featherston - my favourite!!! Trying to breathe now. Love the sound of the red wool - it would go perfectly in my house. Look forward to the listing - may be slightly out of my price range though. Michelle

  10. I love the sound of Danish wool ... you are such an inspiration!

And what a beautiful chair ... I hope it realises what professional hands it's in!

You are a wonder! Danish wool sounds divine ... who supplies Danish wool in Brisbane?

  11. MMMC - I bought the fabric from someone who had imported it from the US to upholster their sofa with and I bought the remainder (which is a lot). It is Danish made Kvadrat Topas 2 wool fabric, not sure who supplies it here.
